2008 Growing a Fringe

The Growing a Fringe festival 2008 was a free digital media and performing arts festival for people aged between 14 and 26. This unique youth arts festival showcased the creativity and talent of our local young people by providing an avenue for them to present their own stories and works. The 2008 festival featured a number of original new plays, music, short films and a range of creative workshops. Artistic Director Sky Lilly Simpson worked with groups of young people to create new and exciting theatre performances and short films. Groups devising new plays this year included Odd Sock Youth Productions and Atypical Troupe. Venues included Dudley House, Old Fire Station, La Trobe Gallery 121 and the Bendigo Bank Room at the Capital Theatre.
